Lofoten Islands – the pearl of northern Norway

The Lofoten Islands are an archipelago located north of the coast of Norway, north of the Arctic Circle. The Lofoten Islands rise from the green waters like a wall, the mountains here reach 1000 m, and the islands themselves are fringed by a white sandy coast. The landscapes here are magnificent, flocks of sea birds are everywhere, cutting through the air in search of food, picturesque fishing villages hiding in the bays, northern lights. Lofoten is an unforgettable experience, yet the population of the five main islands is only 25,000 people.

In the archipelago (150 km), the largest islands are Austvogoy, Vestvogoy, Flakstadöy and Moskenesoy, surrounded by skerries and rocks that birds have chosen for themselves, there are their entire colonies. On some mountains (height up to 1266 m) there is even snow, and in the coastal strip there are many swamps, lakes and meadows. Winters are mild and summers are relatively cool; there are wonderful places for recreation for lovers of fishing, hunting and rock climbing.

There is hardly a place in the world where you can go snowshoeing and surfing, go on a whale safari and see the most dangerous whirlpool in the world, climb a mountain peak, relax on the beach and admire the northern lights. Holidays in the Lofoten Islands will not spoil even a long flight, unstable weather and high prices.
